ARCTIC, a leading manufacturer of PC coolers and components, has designed the Liquid Freezer III series to shape the trend towards quiet cooling systems. The product offers a range of features that enhance cooling performance and user experience.
The 60 mm fan in the CPU block provides active cooling in the socket area, enabling a continuously higher load and a longer service life of the voltage converters. The Liquid Freezer III replaces the standard ILM (Integrated Load Mechanism) with a contact pressure distribution design tailored for LGA1851 and LGA1700 sockets. This results in minimal mechanical stress on the CPU and motherboard, as well as improved cooling efficiency.
Addressing the multi-die chip design of AMD Ryzen processors, the Liquid Freezer III features a 5 mm offset coldplate that centres on the CPU hotspot, resulting in better temperatures. Additionally, the 23% larger finstack offers more surface area, providing consistently lower temperatures due to the optimisation of the internal structure of the 38 mm radiator.
The Liquid Freezer III offers two control modes - complete control or simple control. Users can individually control the pump, VRM fan, and radiator fan, or manage them all through a single connection, providing greater flexibility in system customisation.
The technical specifications of the Liquid Freezer III are as follows:
Compatibility: Intel Sockets LGA1851 and LGA1700; AMD Sockets AM5 and AM4; Thermal Paste: MX-6 (0.8 g); Warranty: 6 Years
Pump: 800-2800 rpm (PWM controlled); Coldplate: Copper, Micro Skived Fins; Tube Length: 17.72 inches; Tube Diameter: Outer 0.49 inches, Inner 0.24 inches
VRM Module: VRM Fan 400-2500 rpm (PWM controlled)
Radiator Fans: 2x P12 PWM; Speed: 200-1800 rpm; Air Flow: 56.30 cfm | 95.65 m³/h; Static Pressure: 2.20 mmH₂O; Bearing: Fluid Dynamic Bearing; Cable Length: 1.57 inches
Size & Weight: Radiator + Fans: 10.91 (L) x 4.72 (W) x 2.48 (H) inches; Weight: 51.50 oz.
The Liquid Freezer III series is conditionally compatible with select motherboards from ASRock, ASUS, and GIGABYTE, as noted in the technical specifications. However, it is incompatible with certain models from these manufacturers, as well as some MSI motherboards, due to potential conflicts with the pre-installed M.2 coolers.
ARCTIC provides a suitable M.2 cooler for the Liquid Freezer III, and users can contact the ARCTIC support team to obtain a free replacement if needed, providing the invoice of their motherboard as proof.
The Liquid Freezer III series offers a range of sizes, including 240 mm, 280 mm, 360 mm, and 420 mm radiator options, catering to different system requirements. These models are available in both black and white colour variants, with various customer review scores and price points.
